Catedral, which peaks are similar to gothic towers of medieval churches (that’s the origin of its name: in English, “cathedral”), is the most developed South American ski center.  It has more than 1482 acres suitable for skiing and more than 1 km. of slopes, and preserves its prestige with a modern and wide infrastructure. The natural frame of Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi astonishes with the broadly known beauty of its lakes, woods and mountains. Besides, it’s only 12 miles away from Bariloche’s city center: a fully equipped services center that offers the possibility of staying there as well as in Villa Catedral, at the foot of the slopes. Due to an increasing snowboarder and freeskier culture, Catedral is becoming almost a compulsory stop to those who wish to visit the exceptional peaks of South America.

Turquoise-colored lakes mark the setting of Caviahue skiing center. It’s in the middle of the mountain range, at 1,647 meters above sea level. Moreover, it has 16 signpost runs of different difficulties that go down the sides of the volcano; 8 different off pistes; and 9 lift facilities.

In view of its location and geographic characteristics, this winter complex presents the longest season of the southern hemisphere, and makes possible to ski among prehistoric conifer woods. 

In addition to skiing, snowboard and walks through the woods, you can enjoy an incredible off run crossing downhill of 8 km. from the volcano crater to the center’s base.

In the middle of the Andes, Cerro Chapelco, 1.980 meters of height, is located 12 miles away from San Martín de Los Andes mountain village. It has all the comforts and services to give you an unforgettable and pleasurable stay. Chapelco, situated by Lacar lake, enables us to enjoy the incredible experience of skiing among lenga trees with the view of Lanin volcano rising up the horizon.

It’s located 15 minutes away Villa La Angostura center, and only 45 minutes away San Carlos de Bariloche airport. It has 12 lifts facilities, 21 runs with four difficulty levels, and 2 new Freestyle Parks, one for beginners and other for experts.

Cerro Bayo stands out due to its unique view: from its edge you can appreciate the immensity of Nahuel Huapi, island Victoria and Villa la Angostura village.

At the base of Aconcagua, the highest mountain of America, Penitentes upholds the honor of its fame with its high-quality snow and its rock formation scenery that looks like a monk peregrination.

It’s very near Chile and only 170 km. away from Mendoza, and has more than 741 acres (covered in winter with the best powder, dry and compact) suitable for skiing. Even though it’s not one of the main resorts of the country, undoubtfully, it has some charm that is worth to experience. Backcountry skiing, that still remains hidden for the majority of the visitors, is specially suggested.

This winter resort, together with Los Alerces National Parks as a natural frame, is sited at 1.350 meters above sea level. The longest run is 5.1 kilometers and the vertical drop is of 750 meters (2.460 feet). Its strategic location, very close to Esquel city (Chubut), gives origin to snowfalls since the early days of June and reveals a scenery of woods, lakes and gorgeous waterfalls.

La Hoya enchants with magnificent landscapes and a great snow, which enables us to enjoy and have fun all over the mountain. It also offers some incredible backcountry skiing for powder lovers, and barely known places with excellent descents.

Beyond any doubt, it’s one of the most important ski resorts of Argentina, with an insuperable snow quality and unique mountains. For this reason, it’s internationally recognized as the South American Mecca of freeride. Its 1.200 vertical drop (3.937 feet) between the top at 3.430 meters (11.253 feet) and the base at 2.240 meters (7.349 feet) creates ideal conditions to enjoy days of pure powder.
Near Mendoza’s capital city, it has 43.240 acres (17.500 hectares) suitable for skiing with 30 slopes for different levels and demands and a 1.500 meters (4.921 feet) terrain park; this huge and majestic mountain stands out not only for these characteristics but also for its powder snow, result of the valleys distinctive dry weather. Besides, a spacious complex with a considerable accommodation infrastructure is also available. Guests have at their disposal: hotels and first-class apartments and also mountain refuges, restaurants with different gastronomic alternatives that include three high mountain gourmet places, bars and discos and all the usual services.

It’s located only at 195 meters above sea level, and reaches its top at 1,057 meters, with a vertical drop of 772 meters. The quantity and quality of the snow that Castor displays is surprising.

As a result of its climatic characteristics and geographic location (26 km. from Ushuaia, the southern area of the continent), as well as its nice weather with stable temperatures, it offers the best quality of powder and guarantees one of the longest seasons of South America.
